The bananas leave for the first time for China

Ecuador exports its bananas to China.

This week the 1st banana exports to China start for a trial period. Result of negotiations over 6 months between Chinese officials and Agroban Association (Corporaci¨?n de Bananeros Ecuatorianos).

The first deliveries are made up from 5 containers per week, for a test period of 5 weeks. Then, in early January, the second phase with the export of 30 containers per week.
